Bringing artisan to the 21st Century
Case study
Our team carried out major sash window repairs to Chiltern Hall in Clare, Suffolk. In total approximately 30-windows needed some sort of work carrying out ranging from draught proofing, replacement sills and single clear float glass being replaced. The building is a 16th Century Grade II Listed Building, which shows the quality and capability of our restoration team.
The major part of the work was full restoration of a stained glass window which can be seen in the gallery below. The timber frame was rotten but we were conscious of ensuring that the priceless stained glass was carefully removed to be placed into a newly manufactured frame. The work was carried out successfully and the team were extremely proud to ensure that a piece of history was kept within Chiltern Hall.
All new joinery was manufactured in our joinery yard, with great care ensuring that all new sashes and window sills were matched to their original.
James carried out the majority of the work on the Grade II Listed Building and stated it was a joy to work on a building of such heritage.
